[Athi River Campus, 17th - 21st March, 2025]  The PAC Court at Main Campus Athi River was a beehive of activity from 17th to 21st March as Daystar University Students Association (DUSA) held its entrepreneurship week. The initiative provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity and business acumen.

The event included mentorship sessions on business development and networking with successful entrepreneurs.

In an interview with Athi River Campus Governor, Mr. Gabriel Ekusi revealed that the goal of entrepreneurship week is aimed at creating a vibrant entrepreneurial culture that extends beyond the university into the professional world. He highlighted that the initiative is expected to grow and become a key event in the university’s academic calendar featuring more external partnerships with advanced business incubation opportunities.

Mr. Ekusi remarked that without a doubt, the entrepreneurship week will play a significant role in helping students cultivate fundamental business skills that are essential for their future careers, especially for students pursuing business related courses.

The event served as a platform for students to build their self-confidence, allowing them to present their ideas, engage in meaningful discussions, and take initiative in entrepreneurial pursuits. By participating in different activities, students gained exposure to real-world business challenges, learnt how to navigate obstacles, adapt to changing circumstances, and develop problem-solving skills. This experience will prepare them for the dynamic and competitive nature of the entrepreneurial world, equipping them with the resilience and knowledge needed to succeed in their ventures, offered Mr. Ekusi.

He underscored the importance of cultivating entrepreneurial mindsets among students, encouraging them to think creatively, to take initiative, and develop problem-solving skills that are critical in today’s fast-paced business world.

“Additionally, the entrepreneurship week will help to finance student-led startups, thereby enabling young entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into viable businesses. Beyond financial assistance, these collaborations will also provide long-term mentorship programs, where experienced professionals can guide students, offering valuable insights, industry knowledge, and practical advice to help them navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship”, remarked Mr. Ekusi.
