DUSA Promulgates Reviewed Constitution

[Tuesday, 25th March, 2025] The reviewed DUSA Constitution was recently promulgated at the Main Campus Athi River in preparation for student elections.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban P. Ayiro, the Chair of the University Council, Prof. F. George Njoroge, and the Ag. DVC- Academic, Research and Student Affairs Dr. DInah Keino, and the Dean of Students, Rev. Mutinda Musyimi. The process was officiated by the Dean, School of Law, Dr. Maurice Owuor.
The Chairman of the University Council, Prof. F. George Njoroge underscored the importance of the DUSA constitution promulgation to the University Management and the Council.
“The reason we are here is to put Daystar University on the map and to ensure that it continues to shine,” he said. Prof. Njoroge encouraged students to represent Daystar University wherever they go, adding that Daystar Nurses working at the Kenyatta University Teaching, Research and Referral Hospital (KUTRRH), stood out in how they conduct themselves and execute their duties.
He urged students to elect leaders who will take Daystar University to the next level.
“Let us choose compassionate, humble, and respectful leaders who will transform not only Daystar University but also the world,” said Prof. Njoroge.
Noting that he would be away in the US when elections take place, the Vice Chancellor Prof. Laban Ayiro urged students to ensure smooth and peaceful elections and promised DUSA the necessary support. He highlighted that the constitution will not only guide students during elections, but will also direct them on how to conduct themselves in their other affairs.
The VC further appreciated the DUSA leadership and the Dean of Students for their authentic leadership.
Emphasizing the importance of the DUSA constitution, the Dean, School of Law, Dr. Maurice Owuor pointed out that wherever there is organized society, there must be law. He said through the promulgation, students gave their consent to the reviewed DUSA constitution..
The Dean of Students Rev. Mutinda Musyimi urged the students to be kind and respectful to one another during the election period.
Members of the DUSA Council signed and exchanged the documents with the Vice Chancellor and Chairman of the University Council.
During the ceremony, the new Electoral Commission of Daystar (ECD) was also commissioned to begin planning for the next DUSA elections.
