PhD Student to speak at EMDR Africa Conference 2025

Mr. Siver Kibuh, a Daystar University student pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology  will present a paper at the inaugural Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Africa Conference 2025, scheduled to take place at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, from October 6–7, 2025.

Mr. Siver Kibuh, a Daystar University student pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology  will present a paper at the inaugural Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Africa Conference 2025, scheduled to take place at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, from October 6–7, 2025.

His research paper titled “EMDR Therapy on PTSD among Healthcare Professionals in Selected Intensive Care Units in Cameroon”, will explore the application of EMDR in addressing trauma among frontline healthcare workers.

The study highlights the urgent need for culturally adapted trauma therapies that resonate with African realities.

The EMDR Africa Conference is a professional gathering dedicated to advancing trauma treatment across the continent. It will bring together mental health professionals, researchers, and practitioners to exchange knowledge, share best practices, and explore culturally grounded approaches to healing.
